Dear Mr. Fleury:

I am not sure what you are confused about. As you well know, we will not sell you a mainspring for a Vacheron watch any more than we would sell you a mainspring for a Cartier watch.

However, we did offer you the opportunity to be trained at one of our facilities so that you might then become qualified to work on some of our watches. May I remind you that after asking for that opportunity, you ultimately decided (without explanation) not to participate in our program and to be so trained.

Contrary to your unfounded statements, our policies are not "monopolistic" or improper in any way. Our policies exist to ensure our clients obtain the correct and best service possible for these complicated timepieces. Repairing a watch is not about the spare part but about the craftsmanship, skills and years of training that go into providing the highest level of technical after sale service for our customers. Moreover, I caution you not to make any unfounded and defamatory statements about our companies or our products to Mr. G or to any of our customers, and if you do so, we reserve the right to take the appropriate legal action.

Very truly yours,

Stacey Hallerman
